Time and money. Those are the limited resources that we’re all working to maximize.
When it comes to eating, preparing meals at home is far superior to going out. You save plenty of time and LOADS of money.
Not to mention your waistline will shrink!
Here’s the best thing going in cooking - the slow cooker.
Most slow cooker recipes take less than 20 minutes to prepare, require almost no skill, taste great, and are ready when you get home from a busy day at work.
You literally can’t beat it!
So, if you don’t have a slow cooker already, go get one. Buy one with a timer so you don’t have to be there to manage the cooking process.
Oh, and one of the things that’s all the rage - and finally got my wife to engage in cooking - is slow cooker meal prepping.
Basically, you put all your ingredients into a ziplock bag and store them in the freezer. When you’re ready to eat your prepared meal, you simply defrost overnight and toss it into the slow cooker the next morning.
When you get home from work, voila! Dinner is served.
How much can you save? A simple pot roast meal will take care of dinner and still have leftovers for lunch the next day. Total cost - around $12.
Compare that to these alternatives for our family of four:
Fast Food - $24
Fast Casual - $32
Chained Dining - $50
